It's important that teachers are able to collaborate with other teachers in their subject area or department. Let's look at ways to accomplish this in Canvas and Google!
Teachers are unable to be enrolled in courses they are not teaching as a restriction of courses provisioned through the Student Information System. This means a teacher will see only courses they are enrolled in on their list of Canvas courses. However, there are many ways to share and collaborate content across courses.

- Teachers can send a Canvas assignment or a Canvas discussion to another teacher. If a Biology teacher wants to share a great weekly starter quiz assignment with another Biology teacher, they can simply send the assignment directly to the user.
- Teachers can send an entire module or just a single module item to another teacher. This is a useful way to send a variety of Canvas content, such as a Home Page and its linked resources, to a teacher in another course.
- For non-Canvas content, teachers should have access to a shared Google Drive folder for each course. This was created for all built courses to house shared Google resources used in that course. Learn more about sharing and collaborating on Google files here.
There are many ways to share and collaborate on course content without being enrolled in an entire course that a teacher does not teach. We hope that these resources will help every teacher share (and maybe even steal!) great ideas across the school.
