You may come across a class where you need to use the digital microscopes for class. Plugging in for its first use can be done by following the steps below:
- Powering On: Press and hold the power button (usually marked with a power symbol) until the screen illuminates.
- Connect the microscope to your computer using the provided USB cable.
- The device may prompt you to select a mode (e.g., PC Camera, Mass Storage). Choose 'PC Camera' to view the live feed on your computer screen.
- Plug in your Digital Scope into the USB port of your Chromebook device found on either side of your device.
- Open the Camera App in your Chromebook. It is important to make sure this step is done after you've plugged in your digital scope into your Chromebook so that the Camera app can detect the scope.
- Flip the Camera view to change to the USB Camera.
Tips: To adjust camera quality, ensure the image is focused properly by adjusting the dials on the back. Then, click the Lightbulb button directly on the microscope to brighten the image. This can be adjusted up to 3 brightness levels.
Now, you have your digital scope working through your Chromebook device. Note the sample below showing the desk it's on.
The microscope has a 3-in-1 Multi-Functional Design. The detachable design allows for desktop, handheld, and portable usage modes, adapting to different exploration needs.
Troubleshooting:
- No Power: Ensure the battery is charged. Connect the USB cable to a power source and try again.
- Blurred Image: Adjust the focusing knob slowly until the image becomes clear. Ensure the specimen is properly positioned.
- Screen is Dark: Check the LED light brightness settings and adjust as needed. Ensure the specimen is adequately illuminated.
- Cannot Save Photos/Videos: Verify that an SD card is correctly inserted into the device. Check if the SD card has sufficient free space.
