Users may have issues with microphone or webcam access using Zoom on Chromebook. This could be due to the "Site Settings" in your Chrome web browser. Below are the steps to take to make sure that your mic and video are enabled in Chrome.
**Please note** if the steps below do not work, please check out our help article "I can't hear audio during a Zoom class".
- From the browser, go to the Zoom PWA site and make sure you are signed in. Click on the 3 stacked dots found at the top right hand side, and then click on "Settings".
- From there, click on "Privacy and security".
- Next, click on "Site Settings".
- Under "Permissions", you will find your Camera and Microphone. Click on the Microphone option.
- Check to see that the correct microphone is selected (Default - Internal Mic) and that the "Default behavior" is checked off blue to "Sites can ask to use your microphone".
- Then, go back and do the same for "Camera".
If both camera and microphone were already checked off to "Sites can ask to use your camera/microphone", then check off the option below it to "don't allow", and then check off the option back to the above "Sites can ask to use your camera/microphone".
Once the above is complete, leave your live class session and re-enter your live class session.
