SymbolStix (by n2y) is a helpful tool that engages students with communication and developmental disabilities to express their needs and feelings through an interactive visual interface. This program is used by many students within Oregon Charter Academy.
How Do I Log In?
When accessing SymbolStix on an ORCA device, you start by logging into your Chromebook.
Once logged in, click on the Google Chrome icon in the taskbar.
Once you have accessed your Chrome browser, you will visit the website with the login portal HERE. You will see a login portal that will ask to access the page using different accounts. Please make sure you click "Sign in with Google".
Because ORCA student accounts use SSO (Single Sign-On) on Chromebooks, you will be automatically signed into this site. You will see the main dashboard with a set of options listed.
(Please note: Depending on the Individual Education Plan, you may potentially see different options based on the needs of each student.)
Select "SymbolStix PRIME".
Once selected, you will be logged into SymbolStix and will see any custom or assigned boards featured. You can choose whichever one is required at the time.
You are all set after that! If any additional information or requests regarding educational tools or Individual Education Plans is needed, please make sure you reach out to your student's teacher, academic advisor or case manager for further details.
