For school attendance, assignments, and engagement, the student account must be used. Assignments, attendance, and live class are not submissible via the provided parent/observer account.
What can and can't parents or guardians do in a Canvas Observer account?
Choose Account, then Logout. Then have the student sign back in using their credentials.
Guest browsing and incognito mode are disallowed on student Chromebook devices. We recommend using the Canvas Parent App to access an observer account: How do I access the Canvas Parent App?
We also advise using a personal device to log in to a parent observer account. Otherwise, the student may not be able to access their Canvas account on their Chromebook unless they manually sign in again.
On your personal device, go to https://orca.instructure.com/login/canvas and log in with your parent observer account.
