A screenshot is a capture of what you see on the computer screen at the time it is produced. To take a screenshot on a Chromebook, please follow the directions below:
Capture a Partial/Full Screenshot on a PX141E
- Press the Screenshot key
.
- From there, you can select the size of the screenshot from the menu at the bottom, and then press the camera icon in the middle right next to "Capture".
Capture a Full-Screen Screenshot for all versions of Chromebooks
- Press the Ctrl + Switch Windows keys
at the same time.
Capture a Partial Screen Screenshot
- Press the Ctrl + Shift + Switch Windows
keys at the same time.
- When the screen dims and the cursor temporarily changes to a crosshair
, use the crosshair to select an open window or a Chrome OS component.
- Click your mouse button or tap the touchpad to take the shot.
Once the screenshot is captured, a notification window will appear in the bottom-right of the screen displaying a thumbnail of the capture. Clicking on the thumbnail will direct you to the Downloads folder where screenshot files are stored. The Downloads folder can also be accessed by selecting the Launcher at the bottom left of the screen and typing 'Downloads' in the search bar if the app is not on the list of recently used apps.
