Are you in your Canvas course and having issues finding your grades? Since it is so important to know how you are doing in your courses, let's run through how to view your grades in Canvas.
Getting to My Grades
When you are in your course in Canvas, you will see a menu on the left-hand side. This menu helps you move between different sections of your course,. You will see that one of the options to click on is Grades. Click on Grades in this menu to open the Grades Center.
NOTE: If you cannot see this menu, you may need to open it by clicking the three lines at the top left of the Canvas page
Using the Grades Center
Within the Grades Center, you can see a list of everything you have turned in during your course work. You can also see everything that you have not yet turned in. Throughout your course, when your teacher makes more assignments/quizzes etc. available for you, they will also show up on this list.
You can see your grade for each assignment/quiz etc. to the right of the name of that assignment under the Score column. There is also a cumulative, or total, grade at the bottom of the Score column.
To change the order in which your grades are sorted, click on the to the right of Due Date under the Arrange By heading. Select your sorting choice from the drop-down menu.
When you first open the Grade Center, you are shown your current grade total for all scores you have earned so far. To see your total for all grades -- including the grades for assignments you have not submitted, uncheck the checkbox next to "calculate based only on graded assignments." Click the "Show All Details" button to show all comments under each assignment in the middle of the page.
If you only want to show a comment for a single graded item, click the to the right of the item.
If you want to print out your grades, you can click the "Print Grades" button.
Viewing Overall Grades
Viewing specific grading details within each course is helpful (as seen above) but if you'd like to see a quick, general snapshot of the overall grade percentage for each course, you can visit the following (once logged in):
Once on the page, you can see a more aggregate view of the overall percentages for each active course:
**If your course shows a "no grade" percentage, it could be due to no graded assignments active/turned in, the course might not have started yet, the course *has* just started and no due date windows have closed, or the teacher might have specific grading styles in place depending on the type of course.**
