How to edit and submit a "Google Assignments" assignment in Canvas
- Navigate to the specific assignment page for the assignment in your Canvas course by clicking on the assignment title in the "Modules" or "Assignments" section of the course.
- The assignment page will include a window that looks like this. Review any instructions that your teacher has included for what you should submit.
- If your teacher has included a document for you to edit and submit, you should see it under "Your Files." If you click on the document, it will open and automatically make save a copy to your Google Drive. From there, you can edit the document, and return to it at any time in your Google Drive, or through Canvas.
- When you are ready to submit your work, click "Open to attach and submit." A new tab will open with options for submitting the assignment.
- If your teacher included a document in the assignment to edit and submit, it will automatically be added. You can click on it to review your work, and ensure you are submitting the correct file. To attach an additional file to submit, select "Add files" to add an existing file from your Google Drive, or "Create" to make a new file.
- When you are ready, click "Submit" to send your work to your teacher.
- You can always resubmit your work through the same steps if you aren't past the due date, and your teacher has granted you multiple submission attempts.
