When you turn on your Chromebook and sign in, Chrome will automatically open with four tabs. The fourth tab will also automatically sign you into Zoom using SSO and take you directly to your school Zoom account page. This means you should not need to sign in to Zoom manually. From there, you should be able to join your live class sessions without any issues.
If you ever get signed out of Zoom in the Zoom app, you can:
- Close the Zoom application.
- Click on ORCA Bookmarks shown on the top left of your Chrome browser.
- Choose Zoom from the dropdown menu - this will sign you back into Zoom automatically.
- Click on the Zoom application at the bottom of your Chromebook screen.
- You are now logged in!
Please note: If you join class without first logging in to Zoom using the steps above, you will encounter an error such as:
- "Unable to join this meeting. The host requires authentication on the commercial Zoom platform to join this meeting. Please log in with a commercial Zoom account to join"
- This meeting is for authorized participants only. Click "Switch Account to Join" to sign into Zoom with an email address authorized for joining this meeting
To avoid this message, simply log in using the steps as described above!
